COVENTRY UNITED MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REVIEWS THE 3-1 VICTORY OVER RACING CLUB WARWICK...

"After the disappointment of losing our last game to Cadbury, I knew the lads would respond in a big way and they didn't let me down.

With our rivals picking up points at the weekend we knew that anything less than 3 points in this game would be a massive setback for us.
Coxy, Gift and Muzi all came back into the side at the expense of Pierre, Rob and Briscoe.

We started quickly and went a goal up after 2 minutes from Matty Brown. RCW could have caved in after conceding such an early goal but just like in our 1st meeting they kept going and equalised with a breakaway goal. Although we created several good chances, once again a mixture of poor finishing and good goalkeeping from Conal Dowling meant we didn't get the 2nd goal we needed.

The 2nd half was much of the same, with us on the front foot chasing the 3 points and RCW attacking when given the opportunity.

We had to be patient with Conal Dowling making some excellent saves but in the 76th minute Josh O'Grady was in the right place to tap in our 2nd goal. RCW still had time to force a good save from Rich Morris but Muzi put the game to bed with a fine finish in the 90th minute.

In summing up this game, the lads to a man stood up and were counted. We all knew there was no room for error and I am so happy with the way the lads went about this game. We could have and should have scored more goals however but the fact that we are creating chances pleases me greatly. The players coming into this matchday squad all played their parts and as I have said before, everybody will have to play their part.

Talking to some of the Red and Green Army after the game, it's great to hear they are enjoying this season and are pleased with the progress the club has made in less than 3 years. I have said before that we are proud of our fans and we enjoy the support they have given us through good times and bad.

Now it's time to focus on the Southam game and the 3 points are all that I am interested in.

All teams are raising their games against us, so we know we are in for another difficult afternoon where patience again will be needed.
However if we can keep creating the chances that we are at the current time, I think we will be OK."
