CRAIG JONES, BROMSGROVE SPORTING'S SKIPPER, WRITES ABOUT THE 4-0 REVERSE @ NUNEATON GRIFF...

OOPS, A BOOKING FOR THE SKIPPER...

"It was one of those nights when nothing came off for us. I thought we edged the first-half without playing particularly well. We had some good chances early on and if we had stuck one away it would have been a different game. Fair play to Griff though, they took their one chance and went in ahead.

The second-half was just a poor 45 minutes from us. We struggled to win the first ball and hardly picked up a second ball all night. All over the park from 1-11 we didn't meet the standards that we have set this season.

From a defensive point of view it's massively disappointing to concede 4, regardless of the red card. The surface made it difficult to play our normal passing game going forward, so the more direct route played into their hands. No excuses though, we weren't good enough on the night and apologies to the fans that made the journey up in their numbers.

From a personal point of view last night it was a real low point, for as well as the result, I cracked 2 of my ribs around 25 minutes into the game and after confirmation from the hospital this morning, I'm facing a spell on the sidelines, which I'm devastated about.

The league wasn't won when we beat Coventry and it's certainly not lost because of a bad result last night; we still believe and I've got every faith in the boys to put it right at the weekend with 2 huge games away from home. It's important we all stick together: players, management and fans alike, to throw everything at the last 9 games..."
