PORTHLEVEN: WAVES SELLING DUMMIES...

Waves Selling Dummies

An unforgiving wind heaved,
Then hefted my balance,
Bent on hauling
And spilling my entirety
From Porthleven’s outer harbour arm;

Rapped at, flapped at, trapped on
Damp stone, I became enthralled,
Spellbound by white surf’s entrails
And I was rooted entirely,
Tempting fate and a gale’s wild harm…
