COVENTRY UNITED'S RICHARD BLYTHE, JOSH O'GRADY & COACH HARRY BARNES REVIEW THE 0-5 WIN @ COVENTRY COPSEWOOD...

RICHARD BLYTHE, TAKING THE PISS AGAIN?
"After the 3-2 win against Griff and the Pelsall win, we have gave ourselves a great opportunity to really put pressure on Bromsgrove now, with 2 games this week!

Copsewood was one that stood out for me as a tough game as they don't lose many at home and are on a decent run. On the night I don't think we got going at all and Copsewood gave us the run around for the first 20 minutes but once we went 2-0 up it was game over.

Luckily, with a lot of heavy legs we were able to take our foot off the pedal and relax a little! We can close the gap to two points on Thursday night, so it could be a decent week for us!"

'SHUFFLER' O'GRADY...
"On the back of two great results against Griff and Pelsall, we went into the local derby v Copsewood full of confidence. However, we didn't start great and they looked the brighter of the two sides in the opening exchanges.

Lucky for us though we got the early breakthrough with a Ben Vallance right-foot strike. With the 1-0 lead Coventry failed to control the game and Copsewood had a few chances of their own to draw level but with a penalty decision going our way, we had the chance to make it 2-0 going into half time.

Second-half we knew the next goal was vital in sealing the win so to get it early on was a big relief. Terry Anderson was then able to make some changes and bring on fresh legs with such a gruelling schedule ahead.

3 soon became 4 with Coxy getting beyond their 'keeper for a tap in and confirming the victory. Matty Brown then managed a 5th late on to give us a flattering scoreline.

We now go into another important game at Stafford on Thursday knowing we cannot afford any slip ups if we want to gain promotion come the end of the season."

"Another game ticked off on the title race takes us back above Nuneaton and only 5 points behind Bromsgrove.

Copsewood was a potential banana skin before the game because despite their league position we didn't expect an easy game, knowing full well that they're not our biggest fans.

Admittedly, this wasn't one of our best performances this season and we never truly got out of second gear. At the same time we never looked like not winning the game after Ben's early goal.

Another top quality penalty from Coxy made it a lot more comfortable to come out in the second-half and play a bit more like our normal selves and the night was rounded off by Matt Brown scoring the goal to put us ahead of Nuneaton on goal difference.

The fans that made the short trip were very loud and supportive as usual and created a great playing atmosphere.
On to Stafford away tomorrow night and hopefully close that gap to only 2 points on Bromsgrove with 2 games in hand!"
