THE BODGING THREATENED…

Red and green ribbons adorned the neck

Of a hand-puppet,

A badger, The Bodging,

As he beheld the awards

Presented to players

From Coventry United

Perched on a DJ’s electronic deck…

And then he went missing.

No child was responsible,

But I was fortunate to notice

His absence reprehensible…

But, secured and recovered,

I then wondered as I drove home late:

What unpleasant, unnecessary evil

Might have been The Bodging’s fate?
