COALVILLE TOWN MANAGER TOMMY BROOKBANKS COMMENTS ON THE 2-1 FA CUP VICTORY v REDDITCH UNITED...

TOMMY BROOKBANKS, LEFT, LOOKS PENSIVE...

"Hi Pete; reaction from the game on Saturday...

It was an incredibly tough game on Saturday and one that probably belonged slightly more in the latter stages of the FA Cup.

The independent report by The Mowdog summed the game up perfectly, really. There was always going to be one goal in it and if I'm honest I think we probably just edged it on the day.

It was a tight tense encounter between two tough Premier Divisions both in physical terms and ability wise, which I thought was handled very well by the strong officials.

As you can see on the photos, there was huge relief when we got the second goal, as a midweek away trip to Redditch beckoned.

A special mention to Darren Byfield and his team who put on a great show and I'm sure they are in for a great season on that performance.

I now await a no doubt difficult draw on Monday!!!

Onwards and upwards..."

(Coalville have been drawn at home to AFC Mansfield on 17th September...)
