MOUSEHOLE AWAITS: A NEW POEM BY PETE RAY...

Mousehole Awaits

Sullen, grim, almost,
The image captures
No haven, no leisure,
Yet simply pictures
Of the fisherfolk, not pleasure…

Posed? Stilled, certainly,
The locals enrapture;
No props, no agenda hidden,
Yet merely a chapter
From Mousehole’s heritage, bidden…

One dark image and how I felt looking at it.
No road signs, no craft shops, no pleasure seekers, just the locals as they were, as they remained…
Love it.
