Boxes On the Beach
Bathing machines litter the beach,
Like giant turtles slowly advancing
Towards an incoming tide,
Resembling ancient Greek wooden horses…
The lingering boxes with ‘LADIES’ inside,
Await a gullible ocean’s tentative reach,
For their modesty it is customary and imperative to hide…

The accompanying image of Penzance beach made me think of giant turtles, the wooden horse of Troy and also how much modesty has changed in modern times…
