AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES DISCUSSES THE LATEST SITUATION IN THE COVENTRY ALLIANCE DIVISION 3...

"It's been two weeks now since we finished our football season, so me and the lads have been waiting patiently for everyone else to finish their games.

The League has extended the season by another few weeks so that everyone gets their fixtures played.

When we finished our season there were four teams fighting for two promotion places: ourselves, Coventry Plumbing, Polonia Coventry FC and Stockton.

Due to recent results, it's now between Coventry Plumbing and Polonia who gets the final promotion place, along with ourselves.

We have finished with a total of 47 points and a goal difference of plus 44.

Coventry Plumbing currently sit second in the table and have 44 points and a goal difference of plus 36 with two games left to play. Those 2 games just happen to be against Polonia, away on Saturday 12th May and at home on Tuesday 15th May.

Polonia currently sit 4th in the table behind Stockton, have 34 points and a goal difference of plus 20 with four games to play.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, for me it boils down to those two fixtures between Coventry Plumbing and Polonia.

Coventry Plumbing still need one point to guarantee promotion and deny Polonia, whilst Polonia need to win all their remaining fixtures to win promotion themselves, which in turn would deny Coventry Plumbing, so a lot is riding on those two games.

Moving onto the title race, well that really is still up for grabs although I would have to say that Coventry Plumbing are favourites, as it's in their hands to win or lose the championship.

We have the points on the board but Coventry Plumbing only need four points from their remaining two games to become champions.

I, on the other hand have to hope that Polonia continue to play until the final whistle of this eventful season and get a positive result in at least one of those massive games.

Although we have already achieved our season's target of promotion, it would be amazing to be promoted as champions.

I still believe in my heart that this is possible but for this to come true Coventry Plumbing still need to slip up and Polonia need to be at their best.

Both those things are out of my hands but I can carry on dreaming for now..."
